Relational and non-hierarchical care
I graduated from Sofia University in 2023 with a masters in marriage and family therapy. My concentrations include Somatic and Transpersonal psychologies. Post-graduation, I have received training in Hakomi, IFS (internal family systems), EFT (emotions-focused therapy), and Zen Buddhism. I blend humanistic and evidence-based modalities to create gentle and sustainable change in the lives of my clients. My approach is humorous, direct, engaged, non-judgmental, and unquestionably compassionate.
For the last ten years, I have worked in a variety of community mental health settings including domestic violence shelters, schools, addiction facilities, and homeless services. These experiences taught me that being a clinician is about supporting and guiding people in their journey of coming home to themselves, their inherent wisdom, and their community. While I may hold the title of "expert", I firmly believe clients are the experts of their experience, and I am there for scaffolding and illumination.
I was inspired to become a therapist after having a transformative experience in therapy many years ago. I was very fortunate to find a therapist who understood the effects of complex trauma. She helped me find my power amidst what felt like complete chaos at the time. After realizing how lucky I was to have that experience, I decided I wanted to be part of that transformation for others on the road to liberation.
